Funding and appropriations


Today’s investment in ID research; public health and prevention; and development of new drugs, vaccines and diagnostics will pay significant dividends in the future.
Such investments can prevent needless deaths, dramatically reduce health care costs and improve the quality of life for millions of Americans and others around the world. IDSA supports congressional funding for domestic and international programs, including those at the:
IDSA’s current funding priorities include ID and HIV workforce loan repayment; antimicrobial resistance (surveillance, stewardship, prevention, research and innovation); training and supporting new ID investigators; immunizations; drug, vaccine and diagnostics development; public health infrastructure; preparedness; HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis prevention and treatment; and global health security.
