Anais Ovalle, MD, MPH, is an infectious diseases physician at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. She also serves on the faculty at the Geisel School of Medicine, where she co-leads the Health Equity Curriculum. In this role, Dr. Ovalle develops and implements innovative strategies to teach structural competency, social medicine and anti-racism within clinical education. Her work is grounded in the belief that advancing health equity requires expanding access to care, particularly for rural and historically marginalized communities.
As a clinician-educator, Dr. Ovalle is dedicated to creating learner-centered environments that foster curiosity, empathy and a deep commitment to health justice. She finds great joy in mentoring trainees, working closely with them to tailor their clinical and professional development to align with their interests and goals.
