Jo-anne Salangsang Klein, MD, MS, FIDSA, is a board-certified infectious diseases physician currently in her fourth year of practice at Tidelands Health in coastal South Carolina and holds the role of system epidemiologist. She earned her doctor of medicine degree from the University of the Philippines and completed her internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic followed by an infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She also holds a master of science in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh. With over a decade of experience including private group practice and a background in academic research, Dr. Klein has led infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship programs across multiple hospitals. In her current role, she built and leads the ID service line, providing inpatient and outpatient care, supervising outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy and integrating telehealth services. She is a Fellow of IDSA and serves on the Coding and Payment Subcommittee.
